Item Number: 61023
Dimensions: 0 x 0
Weight: 0
This rare small-batch treat from our friends in Hawaii is a work of art. It's grown in a rainforest on the slopes of Kilauea volcano. This year's harvest was shaken by the eruptions of last fall. You won't believe the natural fragrance!
Price: $19.95
Ingredients: Premium white tea
Origin: Hawaii
Caffeine Level: Low
Brewing Time: 3 - 5 minutes
Water Temperature: 208°F
Tea growers Chiu Leong and Eva Lee grow, hand-harvest and handcraft this rare tea at their high elevation garden in the rainforest of Kilauea volcano under a canopy of native Ohia trees and Hapu’u ferns. This tea is gently harvested by plucking the top bud and two leaves, while Eva and Chiu are accompanied by the melodies of the Hawaiian Apapani songbird. The leaves are long, loose and downy and brew into a rich, clear, golden infusion resembling Chardonnay. The flavor is floral and sweet, deeply satisfying and comforting. Truly the first shade-grown forest tea of Hawaii.

10 gram package yields 20 cups of steeped tea. Three or four infusions with 208°F water.

Limited amount available. This is truly a rare treat!

Volcano White Tea
Peter (USA) 7/3/2019 5:20 PM
The Hawaiian White offered here is possibly the most beautiful tea I've ever seen, before infusing. It even smells delicious in the bag. Taste is mild but unoffensive, nothing grassy or vegetal. Very undemanding, but definitely worth having in your cabinet if you like white tea and have the money to spend on a rare tea like this. Note that you only get about 5 cups with the size offered, making it wildly expensive per cup. Does not brew well a second infusion, lacked all flavor and color, though I don't fault the tea for that. Photos online were accurate to what you receive.
